Highland Coco Fibre Bedding - Compressed Brick (10 Ltr) £2.93

Coco Fibre Bedding (Coir) - Compressed Brick

Coir is a by-product of the coconut industry, coming from the husks of the fruit after a harvest. When compared to peat, (the extraction of which can easily harm fragile bog habitats) coir is a more ecologically responsible choice. It will hold up to 10 times its weight in water, and does not shed moisture like peat moss. Easy to store compressed coir bricks have a compression ratio of 5:1 - for expansion of the fibbers, simply soak bricks for 30 minutes in 5 litres of water.

  • Each brick expands to approximately 10 litres.
  • Weed and pathogen free
  • Resists bacterial mould and fungal growth.

It is an ideal natural looking substrate for Snakes (Forest species), Lizards ( Forest species), and Tarantulas, Millipedes, Forest Scorpions and insects in general? It helps to keep the humidity up In the Faunarium or Terrarium when sprayed and does not hold as much water as peat
