Hydratech Torrent pumps have synchronous motors that are low wattage so cheap to run and inherently reliable. A highly effective pond floor intake ensures effective uptake of waste material

The Unique Duplex Magflow Electronic Performance Impeller System.

Normal magnet drive impellers have very low torque so they are designed to prevent large particles jamming the impeller and stopping the pump. They have very open face impeller and high clearance all round the impeller to take large particles.

The down side to this design is that the impeller cannot get hold of the water and create any pressure. Backpressure on the system simply pushes water back through the gaps around the impeller
